Robot Implementation Research Team

Moving a care receiver from one location to another is the hardest physical work in care homes. The team, together with other teams in the center, is developing nursing care robots conducting such heavy physical work. Much attention is being paid to safety, user-friendliness, and usefulness in various environments by consulting experts in care facilities and education institutions in the stage of design. Putting the robots to practical use is our final goal. We are conducting developments on areal tactile sensors, actuators, outer covering which is soft and safe to both care receivers and givers. Meanwhile, improvements on mechanism, control, sensing system, maintenance and production cost are continuously made. We are planning to conduct filed demonstration in care homes and monitor the results in practical use in a few years.
